Tell us more about who you are and what you do!
Hi! My name is Jamie Meisler, I am a mom, an esthetician, and a lifelong vintage lover. I’ve always been someone with a lot of side quests, from running a vintage home goods shop with my husband in Northern California to switching to vintage clothing when I moved back to Los Angeles. Fun Fact: Through that world, a stylist friend pulled from my shop for a Just Black Denim for a shoot, and I immediately fell in love with the brand.
In another life, I worked in esthetics marketing, and I’ve never really believed in having just one career path, I still have 3 other career paths I would love to follow at some point on my wish list.
But right now, my true passion is skincare & being an esthetician. My mom has been an esthetician for nearly 50 years, so it has always been part of my world. After struggling with postpartum hormonal acne, I decided to get licensed and really understand skin from the inside out. Helping people, especially others on their postpartum journey, feel comfortable and confident in their own skin is what drives me.

You’ve had a few different career paths and businesses. How has being an entrepreneur shaped you?
Entrepreneurship has given me grit, empathy, and a deep appreciation for creative community. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way and taught me how to build almost anything, from cabinets to websites, it really forces you to do it all!
I have learned that surrounding yourself with like minded creatives keeps you going, and that fellow small business owners are some of the most supportive people you will ever meet, my closest friends are all ones I have met through my entrepreneurial adventures.

What are some skincare trends you’re loving?
I am not big on trends for trend’s sake. Skincare should always be based on your skin type, age, and lifestyle. That said, there are a few shifts I really love.
Intentional routines. Fewer products used consistently and with purpose. Skin thrives on simplicity.
Barrier first skincare. Supporting the skin with ceramides, peptides, fatty acids, and proper hydration instead of over exfoliating, which many of us grew up doing.
LED light therapy. When used consistently, it is a powerful non invasive tool. Red light supports collagen and reduces inflammation, while blue light can be helpful for acne prone skin.

What skincare trends do you think people should avoid?
DIY skincare hacks. Ingredients like lemon, baking soda, or sugar scrubs can cause irritation and long term barrier damage.
Over exfoliating. Too many acids, retinoids, or physical scrubs usually lead to sensitivity and breakouts, not the glow people are chasing.
Overloading routines to achieve glass skin. More products do not equal better skin. A balanced routine used consistently will always win.

How do you balance motherhood with your career?
It is something I am always working on. Motherhood really puts in perspective how fast time moves, so I try to prioritize being present for milestones and everyday moments.
At the same time, I believe kids feel their parents’ happiness & that learn more from what they see us do vs say. Having work I love, creative outlets, time with friends, my husband, and space for myself makes me a better mom. I want my daughter to see passion, balance, and fulfillment modeled in real life.
What are your hero skincare products right now?
Hypochlorous acid is a forever hero for me. I call it a reset button for the skin. It calms irritation, helps prevent breakouts, supports the skin barrier, and is gentle enough to use daily. I keep one in my fridge and mist it in the morning to wake my skin up.
Prequel Gleanser as my second cleanse. It is glycerin based, non stripping, and leaves my skin clean without that tight feeling. Great for all skin types.
The Numbuzin NAD+ PDRN Boosting Toner. It brightens, plumps, and tightens thanks to peptides and barrier supporting ingredients.
Some Pavitt Face Mandelic Clearing Serum. Gentle enough for daily use, helps keep breakouts away, and brought my skin back to life postpartum.
And I always say skin care starts from within. I drink plenty of water daily and never skip my Seed probiotics, Athletic Greens, and supplements tailored to me. It is a non negotiable for both my physical and mental health.
